Raipur, July 21, 2009: The proceedings of the Chhattisgarh Assembly was grossly disrupted today by the main opposition Congress over the naxal attack and killing of the Rajnandgaon SP V K Choubey and over two dozen policemen in Madanwada on July 12.
Immediate after the house assembled, the members of the main opposition raised anti-government slogans demanding resignation of Dr Raman Singh from the post of Chief Minister over the Madanwada incident.
When Speaker Dharam Lal Kaushik took up the schedule of the day, the Congress members refused to participate in that and remained unmoved on their demand.
Because of the uproar, the house was adjourned twice during the question hour and subsequently finally up to July 23 as the house failed to take up any matter due to the stand of the opposition.
