Raipur, March 13, 2011: Even though corporate houses have failed to meet the expectation of the commonmen in providing various facilities, but today they have expressed desire to patronise various sports in Chhattisgarh.
After the Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh gave a call to various corporate houses to patronise sports, they have come forward for 32 games, a government release said here.
Hyderabad based National Mineral Development Corporation, believed in mining iron ore from the state, today expressed the desire to patronise archery, in a joint meeting of the industrial houses and sports organisations of the state.
NTPC went for Table Tennis, South Eastern Coalfield Limited Kabaddi, and BALCO preferred Hockey among others in the state.
Whether NMDC, NTPC or BALCO all have been accused by the people and its representatives of ignoring the larger interest of the state and were engaged in profit making from the resources of Chhattisgarh.
