Raipur, February 29, 2024: Eminent Archaeologist Arun Kumar Sharma passed away today.
Padamshree Arun Kumar Sharma has the credit of excavating the important archaeological sites Sirpur and Rajim, which gave a new dimension to the ancient history of Chhattisgarh.
Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai and many eminent personalities have expressed their sorrow over the sudden death of Sharma.
Not only in Chhattisgarh, but also outside, Sharma had conducted excavations, the Chief Minister said in a condolence message to the bereaved family.
Sharma had done excellent works in the field of archaeology and the people will ever remember his contribution to this field, Sai said.
Sharma had also contributed to the Ram Temple issue to proof that beneath the Babri Masjid there existed a temple of Ram.
