Raipur, December 06, 2012: Former BJP MP Puneet Ram Khunte, popularly known as P R Kunte, today rejoined Congress party.
Former Minister Manoj Mandavi was also accepted into the Congress fold in the presence of PCC President Nand Kumar Patel and Leader of Opposition Ravindra Choubey.
Both Khunte and Mandavi are known close confidants of former Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Ajit Jogi.
“I declare the merger of my ChhattisgarhVikas Party with Congress,” Khunte told reporters at the Congress Bhawan.
“We have decided the merger to root out BJP from Chhattisgarh and to instill a Congress Government here,” the former BJP Lok Sabha MP said.
Manoj Mandavi, interacting with the media, said he was happy, he had applied for re-entry into the Congress fold and was accepted.
