Kanker, May 12, 2012: Chhattisgarh government has decided to rehabilitate 131 families in Kanker district, who were badly hit by the Maoists violence, officials said here today.
The state has decided to rehabilitate 131 families of Kanker district and sanctioned Rs 29.52 lakh for construction of houses for 60 families of them, the officials said here.
The money has been sanctioned under the Rashtriya Sam Vikas Yojana, a Centrally sponsored scheme launched for balanced development of all the regions of the Maoist hit states.
Kanker District Collector N K Xaxa has also allotted lands to 131 families for their rehabilitation, they added.
However, for the construction of houses 60 of them have been sanctioned assistance of Rs 48,500 per family, the sources said.
