Raipur, October 9, 2008: Chhattisgarh government was contemplating to organise an inter-state cricket tournament on the foundation day of Chhattisgarh on November 1, next.
Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Brij Mohan Agrawal has directed the sports officials and personalities of the state to make preparation for the first ever inter-state cricket tournament in the state.
The tournament would be held in the newly constructed Chhattisgarh International Cricket Stadium and would be called State Foundation Day Trophy, according to Agrawal.
Sources said unless cricket tournaments are played in the state under various levels the newly constructed stadium would neither be given approval as an international stadium nor the cricket association.
Meanwhile, the senior Minister had also directed the builder of the stadium Nagarjuna Construction Company to complete all construction works with in three months.
