Raipur, October 8, 2008: Phulbasan Yadav of Rajnandgaon district in Chhattisgarh has been selected this year for the prestigious Jamnalal Bajaj Award.
Yadav has been selected for the award for her excellent work towards development and empowerment of women and children, officials said here today.
She had earlier been honoured with the prestigious Mini Mata award by the Chhattisgarh government.
Yadav had contributed immensely for promoting the habit of saving among the women through the Maa Bamleswari Self Help Group of Rajnandgaon, they said.
In a message Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh has expressed his happiness and said selection of Yadav for the award was an honour to the state.
