Raipur, February 4, 2010: Income Tax Department today raided the premises of one of the senior IAS officers of Chhattisgarh and an IAS couple of Madhya Pradesh cadre among others, officials said.
Income tax authorities have raided the premises of Agriculture Secretary B L Agrawal, IT officials said.
The raids were conducted on the premises of two brothers and father of Agrawal and their business establishments and also of their tax consultant Sunil Agrawal, to evaluate their income from business, IT sources said.
In total seven places in Chhattisgarh raids were carried out since early morning today, they said.
Meanwhile, raids were also conducted in 13 places of Madhya Pradesh, they said.
Among the places where the IT search were conducted included the premises of IAS couple Arvind and Tinu Joshi, two Executive Engineers, one Insurance Branch Manager, and one Insurance agent of Madhya Pradesh, they said.
