Dantewada, February 3, 2010: Eight of the Maoists were today killed in two separate gun battles in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh, police said.
Security forces and Maoists were locked in fierce gun battle in two separate places in Bijapur district in which eight Maoists were killed and explosives and weapons have been recovered, said police.
In Regadgatta one uniformed Maoist was killed and one 12 bore weapon was seized after an encounter, they said.
In another gun battle, security forces shot dead seven uniformed naxalites in Mad area of Bhairamgarh region in Bijapur district, the police added.
