Bilaspur, November 3, 2008: Both former Chief Minister Ajit Jogi and his wife Renu Jogi will be filing nominations today from Marwahi and Kota Assembly constituencies today on the last date of filing nomination for the second phase poll of November 20.
After holding back the name for Marwahi for a day, the Central Party High Command had cleared the name of Jogi to become the candidate for Marwahi, PCC Spokesman Rajendra Tiwari told the ChhattisgarhTopNews.Com.
When asked why it was not announced when 47 names were declared, the PCC Spokesman said the Central party leaders can throw light on that matter.
Meanwhile, Shailesh Nitin Trivedi, Political Secretary to the former Chief Minister, said both the Jogis would be filing their nominations today here at Bilaspur.
Jogi would be filing for Marwahi (ST) seat where as Dr Ranu would be for Kota.
The AICC past mid night yesterday released the name of 47 candidates, which included Dr Renu Jogi as the candidate from her Kota seat, but surprisingly it was silent on who would be the party candidate from Marwahi.
In fact Jogi wanted his son Amit to replace him for Marwahi but the AICC rejected that proposal and asked him to furnish a name of his choice to become party candidate and the former Chief Minister remain free to campaign in rest of the 89 seats, party sources said.
Looking into the new development, Jogi spoke to the Central leadership and said he was ready to contest from Marwahi and finally the high command agreed to that, they added.
