Ambikapur, June 7, 2009: A prominent political personality of the Sarguja region and former legislature Madan Gopal Singh passed away here at the age of 76.
Singh had represented Ambikapur in both the undivided Madhya Pradesh and newly created Chhattisgarh assemblies from 1980 to 2003.
Singh died here yesterday, officials said.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh today expressed his deepest condolences for the death of the senior politician of Sarguja region.
He was very easily available to the people and always ready to carry the message of the people to the Government for conducting developmental works in his region, the Chief Minister said in a message to the bereaved family.
