Ambikapur, June 10, 2009: A magistrate order was today issued on the absconding of an under trail prisoner Janesh Kumar Singh from the Ramanujganj Sub-Jail of Sarguja district in Chhattisgarh.
Sarguja District Collector Dr Kamal Preet Singh has appointed Ramanujganj Sub Divisional Magistrate as the inquiry authority to probe the matter and submit the report with in one month, officials said here today.
It was said that Janesh was taken out of the jail by Chief Jail Warden Shiv Dayal Sahu at 6.45 AM on May 13 for doing some work in the jail premises and with in five minutes he went missing from the custody.
The Magistrate would probe, in which circumstance he escaped from the jail, during that period whether any of the jail inmates had helped him? Where was the jail warden when he escaped? Who are responsible for the incident and other points, they said.
