     Korba, November 02, 2011: On instruction from the Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh, the Korba district administration has ordered a magistrate inquiry into the alleged suicide by a government employee and his wife over alleged police atrocities on their son.

     Korba District Collector R P S Tyagi has ordered a magistrate inquiry into the suicide by Deepka colony resident and an employee of the South Eastern Coalfield Limited Poklal Patel and his wife Savitri on Saturday, officials said today.

     Additional Collector Korba Abhay Kumar Mishra would probe the incident and submit a report with in 90 days, they said.

     Under what circumstances the couple have died, what were the reasons behind the suicide and who are responsible for the suicide, would be probed by the Magistrate along with other issues, the officials said.

     The Patel couple claimed to have committed suicide on Saturday after their sons were allegedly subjected to police atrocities after a theft case was reported in a nearby mosque.

     Terming the incident unfortunate, Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh had yesterday directed the District Magistrate to conduct an independent probe into the entire incident.
