Raipur, February 04, 2012: Foodtech, a two-day fair on food processing sector was inaugurated here today by Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Food processing Charan Das Mahant.
The two-day exhibition on food processing has jointly been organised by the Governments of India, Chhattisgarh and the PHDCCI at the Chhattisgarh Capital Raipur.
Both the Centre and the State Governments are serious towards expanding the food processing industry sector in Chhattisgarh, Mahant told the function.
The state has a great potential for agriculture based food processing industry, looking into the strong agriculture base of the state, the Union Minister said.
Besides rice minor forest produces also have a great potential in this sector in the state, Chhattisgarh PWD Minister Brij Mohan Agrawal said.
Forest, Agriculture, Horticulture, Industry and Women and Child Welfare Departments have participated in the FoodTech.
