Raipur, February 04, 2012: Chhattisgarh Government today declared two more tehsils drought hit, with that a total of 26 tehsils of the state have been declared drought hit this year.
Balodabazar and Bilaigarh tehsils of newly created Balodabazar district were today declared drought hit by the state government.
With the latest order, with immediate effect the state government has put a ban on collection of land revenues from both the drought hit tehsils under the Section 144 of the Chhattisgarh Land Revenue Code 1959, official sources said.
Looking into the continuous dry spell in some portions of the state, the government had earlier declared 24 tehsils as drought hit.
