Jagdalpur, January 25, 2011: Maoist today kidnapped five policemen and a villager in Narayanpur district of Chhattisgarh amid elaborate security arrangements for the Republic Day.
The civil dressed policemen and the villager were abducted when they were travelling in a private passenger bus, Narayanpur Police Station sources told ChhattisgarhTopNews.Com over phone.
The Maoists stopped a bus at Jharaghati, which was coming from Orchha to Narayanpur and conducted a thorough checking of all the passengers, police said.
During the checking they identified six passengers and asked them to get down from the vehicle and took them away, police added.
All the five policemen were unarmed, confirmed police.
“Local Police has launched a search operation in that area to trace the security personnel,” they said.
