Dantewada, June 19, 2009: The bodies of both the abducted jawans of the Chhattisgarh Armed Forces were recovered today from the Awapalli-Bijapur main road.
After killing both the jawans with sharp weapons, the bodies were thrown by the Maoists near Dharabaram-Nukanpal area and on information, Bijapur police today retrieved both the bodies, police said here.
A group of armed Maoists stopped a passenger bus and on indentifying two passengers as police jawans they were on gun point kidnapped by the naxalites two days back.
Both the jawans were returning back to their place of posting after availing leave and they were kidnapped when they were travelling in from Bijapur to Awapalli, police said.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh has condemned the incident of killing of both the CAF jawans and said it was a cowardice act of the Maoists.
