Raipur, October 12, 2011: A group of Maoists have allegedly looted weapon from Congress MLA from Bindranawagarh Damarudhar Pujari yesterday night, police said today.
As per information provided by the MLA, a large number of suspected Maoists entered his house yesterday night and forcibly took away the official weapon from his personal security guard, police said today.
The alleged incident took place in his native place Mungapadar in Raipur district, they said.
The incident of Maoists entering his house and taking away the weapon with out any resistance from the security personnel was raising several eye brows even at the State Police Headquarters here.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh and Home Minister Nanki Ram Kanwar have condemned the incident and said security would be further tightened around all the people’s representatives in the state.
