Raipur, January 6, 2010: Prominent social activists Medha Patkar and Sandeep Pandey were today reportedly roughed up by an angry mob at Dantewada District headquarters of Chhattisgarh.
When Patkar and Pandey were proceeding towards Dantewada district collectorate they were confronted by an angry mob, who raised slogans asking them to go back from the district, reports reaching here said.
During that period Pandey fell down from the motor cycle, he was riding in, as someone pushed the vehicle, reports said.
It was reported that the mob also threw stones and eggs on the eminent social activists who were on a visit for guarding the human rights of the tribals of that region.
The incident was taken seriously by the police as yesterday only four of the visitors, some of them journalists, had a clash with the local journalists, in which some of the equipments of the local scribes were reportedly broken.
The local scribes had also filed an FIR against the visitors and a case had been registered against them, police said.
