Raipur, January 8, 2010: Medha Patkar today faced a hostile mob of young children, who have lost their parents and near ones in the naxal violence in the state.
When Patkar was in Raipur, on returned from Dantewada with bad experience, she was greeted with black flags and slogan shouting against her.
The victims of naxal violence also accused her of siding with the Maoists, the allegation she dismissed.
On Wednesday Patkar and Sandeep Pandey were reportedly roughed up by an angry mob at Dantewada District headquarters and even the mob threw stones and eggs on the eminent social activists, who were on a visit for guarding the human rights of the tribals of that region.
When Patkar and Pandey were proceeding towards Dantewada district collectorate they were confronted by an angry mob, who raised slogans asking them to go back from the district and during that period Pandey fell down from the motor cycle, he was riding in, as someone pushed the vehicle, reports said.
