     Korba, June 23, 2011: Dismissing speculation, Central Government today said the Coal Indian Limited (CIL) would not be privatised.

     There was no such proposal pending with the Government, Minister of State for Coal Prateek Prakash Babu Patil told reporters here.

    The Union Minister, who is on a three days tour of the South Eastern Coalfield Limited area, was replying to a question on the privatisation of Coal India in a press conference.

     He also said the Coal Ministry would soon take a decision on the appointment of full time heads of the CIL and SECL.
