     Sukma, May 07, 2013: Amid allegation of corruption and irregularities by the opposition, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh today said his government was functioning honestly and sincerely.

     The state government was functioning honestly and sincerely for the welfare of the people, which was reflected from the huge gathering of people in Vikas Yatra, Chief Minister Singh told a meeting at Konta, a town close to Andhra border.

     On the second day of his ambitious Vikas Yatra-2013, he gifted Rs 105 crore worth of developmental works to the new district of Sukma.

     On April 21, 2012 Sukma District Collector Alex V F Paul Menon V was kidnapped by Maoists during the Gram Suraj Abhiyan from Majhipara village and after a negotiation for 13 days, he was released unharmed, although at the time of his abduction both of his armed body guards were killed.

     The Chief Minister said his government was sincere towards development of the state and its people and that was reflected from the welfare schemes, being implemented in every villages of the Sukma district in particular and Chhattisgarh in general.

     BJP State President Ram Sewak Painkra also addressed the meeting.

     In an attempt to return to the power for the third time Singh was embarked on the Vikas Yatra.

     Former Home Minister and senior BJP Leader Lal Krishna Advani yesterday flagged off the ambitious Yatra at Dantewada and said he was happy that Chhattisgarh was progressing well under the Chief Ministership of Dr Raman Singh

     In six phases, the Yatra would be of 40 days from May 6 to June 15.

     It would cover 6100 kilometres, out of which 3300 Km would be by air and 2800 km via roads and would cover 81 of the 90 assembly segments of the state.
