Bhubaneswar, June 12, 2024: Outgoing Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik was today the centre of attraction here at the swearing-in ceremony of Mohan Charan Majhi led new BJP government in Odisha.
A Chief Minister for continuous 24 years Patnaik was seen discussing with Prime Minister Narendra Modi after the oath-taking ceremony.
After Patnaik reached the Janata Maidan, the venue for the swearing-in ceremony, he was welcomed by Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
He not only shared the dais with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnth Singh, Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari, Health Minister and BJP President J P Nadda, but also was seen interacting with them before and after the oath ceremony of Majhi and his council of ministers.
In the presence of Modi and several union ministers and Chief Ministers, including Chhattisgarh’s Vishnu Dev Sai, a tribal leader from Keonjhar district and four-time MLA Mohan Charan Majhi was today sworn in as the first BJP chief minister of Odisha by the Governor Raghubar Das.
Six time MLA from Patnagarh Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo and debutant from Nimapara segment Pravati Parida took oath as deputy chief ministers.
Patnaik attended the event after Majhi personally invited him.
