Raipur, April 07, 2011: Chhattisgarh Government today cancelled the ambitious Gram Suraj Abhiyan of the Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh in four districts of south region, since the election schedule for Bastar Lok Sabha by-poll has already been announced.
There would not be any Gram Suraj Abhiyan in Bastar, Dantewada, Narayanpur and Bijapur districts due to May 8 Lok Sabha by-poll, officials said here.
The Chief Minister’s Secretariat has informed the four District Collectors about the decision.
However, in the rest of the 14 districts the Gram Suraj Abhiyan would be carried out in two phases from April 19 to 23 and from April 25 to 29, they clarified.
