Jagdalpur, April 11, 2011: Election Commission today issued the notification to fill the vacant seat of Bastar Lok Sabha seat through election on May 8.
With the issue of notification the nomination process has been started. However, on the first day today no one has filed their nomination papers.
The Commission has declared Anbalagan P as the Returning Officer where as C R Prasanna as the Assistant Returning Officer for the Bastar by-poll.
As per the schedule, nomination can be filed up to April 18 and on April 19 scrutiny would be held.
Candidates can withdraw their names till 3 PM of April 21.
Election would be held from 8.00 AM to 4.00 PM on May 8 and counting would takes place on May 13.
