Govt cancels Public Hearing of power plant

      Janjgir-Champa, April 11, 2011: The District Administration had cancelled the public hearing for setting up the 1200 MW Plant by Chhattisgarh Power Venture Private Limited in the Janjgir-Champa district of Chhattisgarh.

     The April 18 public hearing for environment for the power plant at Gound village has been cancelled, official sources said.

     The Chhattisgarh Power Venture Private Limited plans to set up a 2 X 600 MW coal based thermal power plant in village Gound, they said.

      “Since the Gram Suraj Abhiyan is being started from April 19, the April 18 Public hearing has been cancelled,” the sources said.

    However, the government order was silent on the fresh date for the public hearing.
