Raipur, November 13, 2024: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai and Union Minister of Youth Affairs, Sports, Labour and Employment Dr Mansukh Mandaviya will take part in a Padyatra today in Jashpur, the native place of Chief Minister.
The event of Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas (Tribal Pride Day) will be celebrated to commemorate the birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda and honour his legacy and the significant contribution of tribal communities to the development of the country.
Chief Minister Sai will be joined by other ministers of the state in the Padyatra, official sources said.
More than 10,000 Volunteers from My Bharat Youth will participate in this special event with the aim of commemorating tribal heritage, promoting inclusiveness and raising awareness about government schemes that benefit tribal communities, the sources said.
These volunteers will promote the spirit of protecting and preserving tribal culture, heritage and legacy.

The Padyatra will start from Komdo village and will culminate at Ranjit Stadium of Jashpur Nagar, covering a distance of about 7 km. The padyatra will unite youth, tribal leaders and community members in a vibrant celebration of tribal heritage and spirit, they added.
The event will kick off with cultural performances depicting the contribution of tribal leaders in India’s independence and dances showcasing the richness of tribal heritage.
The padyatra will commence with tree plantation in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ initiative.
During the padyatra, an exhibition site will showcase historical tribal movements, tributes to tribal heroes and the unique artistry and craftsmanship of India’s tribal communities. The padyatra will showcase tribal culture, beautiful rangoli art pieces, paintings and plays celebrating traditional tribal art.
Live workshops will provide attendees with an interactive experience with tribal dance, music and literature while tribal food items will explain their health benefits.
The highlights of the padyatra include cultural programmes, performances of tribal dance and music celebrating the cultural richness, exhibitions on tribal movements and arts, plays and tableaus showcasing historical tribal movements, valour and craftsmanship.
Information about Government schemes and women beneficiaries. Artistic programmes such as Rangoli, Painting and workshops promoting tribal art and literature.
The Union Ministry through this event wishes to promote a deeper understanding of tribal heritage and culture as well as actively involve the tribal community in Government welfare initiatives.
The aim of this celebration is to provide a platform for the youth to connect, understand and respect the rich legacy of tribal heritage of India.
The Department of Youth Affairs invites youth from across the country to join this padyatra by registering on My Bharat Portal at www.mybharat.gov.in and deepen their understanding of tribal heritage and respect their tribal heritage.
My Bharat, under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, will organize padyatras across India to embrace and showcase the rich cultural diversity of India during the year-long celebration to commemorate 75 years of the Constitution.
