Raipur, February 28, 2009: After a Forest Officer, it was the turn of a Police officer of Chhattisgarh to become the Director of the Culture Department of the state.
The State government today cleared the appointment of Inspector General of Police Rajiv Srivastav as the Director cum Commissioner Culture and Archeology of Chhattisgarh, officials said.
Srivastav was currently posted as the IG Chhattisgarh Armed Force at Bhilai.
He had previously also functioned as the Director Sports for a longer period.
The Police officer would take the place of Rakesh Chaturvedi, an Indian Forest Service Officer of the state, who had been sent back to his Forest Department.
