Jagdalpur, August 22, 2009: In a bizarre incident, a police jawan of Bastar district in Chhattisgarh today shot dead one of his officer and another senior and seriously injured a policeman before committing suicide.
Manmasih Minj, age 37, today shot dead his Platoon Commander Tikaram Ladia, 54 age, and Head Constable Mehtab Singh Thakur, 55 age, in the Kondagaon Police line when they were engaged in worship, Kondagaon Police Station sources told ChhattisgarhTopNews.Com.
The jawan also seriously injured another jawan Sanjay Singh, age 35, in the morning hours today, they said.
After opening fire from the service weapon, he fled from the scene and committed suicide by hanging himself about two km from that incident site, they said.
Minj was recently been given the court duty and was an introvert and the entire matter was being investigated, they said adding the SP Bastar had also visited the spot.
Meanwhile, looking into the serious condition of the injured jawan, he was being shifted to Raipur, police said.
