Raipur, November 19, 2008: All preparations have been completed today for election in 51 seats of Chhattisgarh for the second phase of votes tomorrow.
Fates of as many as 687 candidates, including 50 women, would be decided tomorrow in the second phase pf election of the 51 seats for the 90-member house, Joint Chief Electoral Officer Gaurav Dwivedi told ChhattisgarhTopNews.Com today.
As many as 4481788 male and 4332440 female, in total 8814228 electorates would exercise their franchise for the second phase of election, he said.
The highest number of 29 candidates is in Bhatgaon seat where as the lowest seven candidates are in Pathalgaon seat, he said.
The second phase poll would decide the fates of prominent leaders like BJP President Vishnu Dev Sai, Ministers Brij Mohan Agrawal, Ram Vichar Netam and Amar Agrawal Congress leaders Ajit Jogi, Nand Kumar Patel, Satya Narayan Sharma, Dhanendra Sahu, Renu Jogi and NCP President Novel Verma among others.
Counting of votes for 39 seats of the first phase and 51 segments of the second phase election for the 90-member house would takes place on December 8.
The election process has to be completed by December 13, the Election office said.
