Raipur, July 17, 2010: About after 20 years the population of the new capital project would be around 5.60 lakh, officials said today.
The population of Naya Raipur would be around 5.60 lakh and keeping that in mind various programmes have been drafted by the state government, officials said here.
There is a proposal to construct a Central Business District like New Delhi, spread over 123 hectare and in the first round facilities for bank, hotel, retail shop and residential and non-residential buildings are being developed on 23 hectare, they said.
Campus for the Hidayatullah National Law University had already been started and in the coming days campus for Indian Institute of management and Indian Institute of Information Technology and other similar national institutes would come up there.
Besides that there is also a proposal for medical, technical, arts and commerce colleges to be started in the new capital area, officials added.
