     Bilaspur, December 10, 2009: Prashant Kumar Mishra and Manindra Mohan Shrivastav today took charges as the judge of Chhattisgarh High Court.

    In a function at the High Court, Chief Justice Rajeev Gupta administered oath to Mishra and Shrivastav in the presence of several dignitaries.

    Mishra, a former Advocate General and senior advocate Shrivastav have been appointed by the President Pratibha Patil as Additional Judges for a period of two years in that order of seniority.

      Mishra was among the few advocates, who preferred to help the people of Chhattisgarh in legal aid after the state was formed on November 1, 2000. He had a good practice in Madhya Pradesh but leaving behind that Mishra returned to Chhattisgarh to start practice here and soon looking into his capability, he was appointed as the Advocate General by the state government.

     With the taking over of charges of two more judges, the total strength of the Chhattisgarh High Court has gone up to 11.
