     Raipur, March 16, 2011: Chhattisgarh Government today decided to hand over the maintenance of the International Cricket Stadium to the state Public Works Department.

     From April 1, the PWD would be entrusted the job to maintain the international Cricket Stadium, officials said here.

    A decision to this effect was taken in a meeting today, attended by PWD and Sports departments officials, including PWD Minister Brij Mohan Agrawal and Sports Minister Lata Usendi, they said.

     International stadium at Parsada, about 22 km from the state capital on the National Highway-6 has a capacity of 60,000 audiences.

      This was the first ever international cricket stadium of Chhattisgarh, constructed with an estimated cost of about Rs 100 crore and inaugurated on September 11, 2008.

     Spread over 50 acre lands, the stadium has eleven blocks and parking facilities for six thousand four wheelers besides separate parking for two wheelers.
