Raipur November 04, 2024: For smooth conduct of the by-election to the Raipur South assembly constituency in Chhattisgarh the Election Commission of India (ECI) has intensified its preparations.
The by-election will be held through electronic voting machines (EVMs) for the constituency number 51-Raipur City South.

In order to prepare the machines for voting, the work of commissioning of machines will be started from 10 am tomorrow, state election office sources said.
All the candidates contesting the election have been informed by the Returning Officer for the commissioning of the EVM and have been urged to be present during that period, the sources said.
Chief Electoral Officer Reena Babasaheb Kangale has also appealed to all the candidates to be present at the Government Engineering College to observe the commissioning process and be fully assured about the working system and fairness of the EVMs.

The EVM commissioning work will be done at E-Block of the Government Engineering College, Sezabhaar, Raipur.
Engineers of the manufacturing company M/s Electronic Corporation of India Limited, Hyderabad (Telangana) will reach Raipur today to provide necessary assistance in preparing the machines for voting, they added.
Engineers from the Electronic Corporation of India will load symbols in all VVPAT machines. Mock poll will be conducted by casting one vote in all machines and 1000 votes on 5 per cent machines selected randomly, the sources said.
