Raipur, October 12, 2012: Raipur District Collector Siddartha Komal Pardeshi today slapped a fine of total Rs 77 crore on three private schools for violating various rules of the state.
For violating the Act on free and compulsory education, the Raipur Collector has taken actions against Krishna Public School, Holycross School, Pensionwada and Jain Public School, officials said today.
The Krishna Public School has been fined Rs 49.99 Crore where as Holycross school has been asked to pay a fine of Rs 25.49 Crore and Rs 1.77 Crore is slapped on Jain Public School, they said.
All the three schools have been asked to deposit the fine amount within 15 days.
They have also been asked to refund the fees within one month and if failed, the District Collector has threatened to cancel their recognition.
