Raipur, August 15, 2010: Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh today unfurling the National Flag at Chhattisgarh capital said agriculture loan distribution has increased ten times from Rs 150 crore to Rs 1500 crore.
Not only the interest rate on agriculture loan had decreased to three per cent from 14 per cent but also the amount of loan distribution had been increased from Rs 150 crore to Rs 1500 crore after the new interest rate, the Chief Minister said after receiving salute to a ceremonial parade here.
For the 35 lakh poor families of the state, the government was spending Rs 1200 crore to provide them highly subsidized foodgrain of Re 1 and Rs 2, he said.
The Chief Minister said electricity has become the symbol of strength for the state and said in the coming years an additional 5000 MW would be added to the total production.
He also said when the state was formed on 2000, the demand of power was 950 MW which shot up to 2375 MW, he said.
Talking about the naxal menace, Singh said the Government was serious on the issue because of which Gariabandh has been created as the 21st police district of the state.
He also said the exgratia to the family of the martyr policemen had been increased from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 15 Lakh.
Besides Raipur, the Independence Day was also celebrated in all the district headquarters in large scale.
