Raipur, May 05, 2013: BJP government in Chhattisgarh would distribute Rs 1900 crore to the farmers during its 40 days Vikas Yatra, Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh said here today.
All preparations have been completed for the Vikas Yatra-2013, the Chief Minister told reporters here at his residence.
The Vikas Yatra would be flagged off from Dantewada tomorrow by senior BJP leader Lal Krishna Advani, he said.
In six phases, the Yatra would be of 40 days from May 6 to June 15, Singh said.
The Yatra would cover 6100 kilometres, out of which 3300 Km would be covered by air and 2800 km via roads.
“During the Vikas Yatra, we will distribute Rs 1900 crore bonus to the farmers towards paddy,” the Chief Minister said.
Laptops and computer tablets would also be distributed among the students during that period, he added.
“Through this Vikas Yatra we will be able to take stock of the situation and condition at the village level,” Singh said.
“We have completed 4.5 years and through this Yatra the government will also be able to inform the people about various developmental works it had carried out,” he said.
