Bijapur, December 6, 2008: The Election Commission was today conducting repolling for the second time in Gogunda booth of the Bijapur district in Chhattisgarh.
In fact five days after the polling was completed, villagers of Gogunda met the District Collector Munish Kumar Tyagi and informed him that not a single polling officers had come to their village for conducing polls.
Taking that matter seriously the Collector conducted a probe and accordingly informed the Election Commission that the polling party had never turned up to the village because of which the Commission had ordered for a repoll.
During that repoll also due to fear for Maoists the polling parties and the police never went to the village and conducted poll some where else other than the scheduled polling booth.
Today was the third time the polling was taking place in that booth, and the voting percentage was not very impressive.
