Raipur, July 13, 2026: A comprehensive revenue survey is being conducted across 246 unsurveyed villages in the Narayanpur district of Chhattisgarh’s Bastar region, paving the way for thousands of rural families to secure legal land rights for the first time.

The ongoing revenue survey campaign in Narayanpur has brought new hope to villagers, who have cultivated their land for years but lacked legal ownership. Their land is now becoming more than just a farm; it is becoming a foundation for rights, identity, and development.

Data collected from the survey of these villages has been sent to IIT Roorkee for map preparation. Once the maps are ready, the final records will be verified and submitted to the government, official sources said.

The greatest beneficiaries of this initiative will be farmers and rural families who had been cultivating their land for years without any legal land records. Upon the certification of land ownership, they will easily be able to avail benefits from various government schemes, including farmer registration, paddy procurement, the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, Kisan Credit Cards (KCC), and the distribution of fertilizers and seeds. Land-related disputes will decrease, and access to government services will become much easier.

The revenue survey campaign is not limited merely to creating land records; it is also laying a strong foundation for the social and economic empowerment of the villagers.

Obtaining legal land rights has boosted the villagers’ confidence, and they are rapidly integrating into the mainstream of development. This administrative initiative stands as a significant step towards transparent, accountable, and people-friendly governance.

Under the directives of the Revenue and Disaster Management Department of the Chhattisgarh Government, the revenue survey has been completed and final records prepared for six villages so far, including Huchchakot, Gorra, Kumgaon, Hitulwad, Kadulbeda, and Murhapadar.

These records have also been uploaded to the ‘Bhuiyan’ portal, ensuring that land-related information is digitally secure and transparent. Meanwhile, records for the villages of Kodoli, Kundla, and Chilparas have also been submitted to the government for uploading.

Following the declaration of Narayanpur district as Naxal-free on March 31, 2026, the administration accelerated survey operations in remote villages that had long been cut off from the mainstream of development.

Despite challenging geographical conditions, the revenue staff—with the cooperation of villagers—successfully completed surveys in eight villages: Maspi, Malmeta, Badekal (Konge), Dodge (Bodum), Godabeda (Marsulnapa), Gome, Konge, and Bogan.
