Raipur, August 05, 2025: Chhattisgarh government today said it has given revised administrative approval of Rs 64.75 crore for the construction of barrage near Pachrighat on Arpa river, located in Bilha block of Bilaspur district.
Official sources said here today that this project has been proposed for the purpose of water conservation, drinking water supply and re-charging of groundwater.
Before starting the construction work, technical approval of the scheme will be given as per the procedures prescribed under the departmental rules.
The work will be started after completing all the necessary formalities and after completion of the work, the completion certificate of the scheme will be submitted to the government.

Under this scheme, all the works will be implemented under the budget head Capital Outlay on Minor Irrigation.
The Finance Department has also given its consent for the scheme. The Chief Engineer has been directed by the State Government to keep regular control on the work and ensure full compliance of the financial rules. Ensure quality, economy and timeliness of construction work on priority basis.
The state government has clearly stated that any kind of cost escalation will not be accepted.
The Water Resources Department (WRD) is ensuring that the water resources of the state are properly exploited to provide maximum benefits to the common people.
