     Raipur, May 5, 2010: Chhattisgarh Government today said it has a shortage of at least 1100 doctors in the state.

     Chhattisgarh has a shortage of 1100 doctors and the state government was doing everything to overcome the situation, Health Minister Amar Agrawal told ChhattisgarhTopNews.Com.

     The situation in the state was so bad that in certain places the government health centres were not even opened for days together due to lack of doctors, admitted the Minister.

     However, the state government was taking several steps to overcome the situation and in two years time the state would have a better heath set up, Agrawal said.

     The state was preparing a new set up and model to have more doctors in the far off and interior areas, he said.

     Also in two years time the Raigarh medical college would start functioning and in three years time the Jagdalpur Medical College would function in its own building, Agrawal added.
