Jagdalpur, December 15, 2009: One SPO and two naxalites were killed in two separate incidents in Bastar region of Chhattisgarh, police said today.
When Lekam Hurra, a former Special Police Officer of Bhairamgarh area of Bijapur district was travelling to Matwada, he was captured by Maoists yesterday and shot at and then slit to death, police said.
Immediately police and SPOs jumped into action and chased the naxal party, who had committed the crime and after a gun battle two of the Maoists were killed, they said.
Among the killed naxalites, one was woman, the police said adding one rifle, one IED, and other naxal related materials have also been recovered today from Merakheda-Ogalipara jungle.
