Raipur, June 09, 2025: Additional SP of Sukma district Akash Rao Giripunje was today killed in an IED blast, carried out by Naxalites in Konta area of Sukma district in Chhattisgarh.
At about 9 AM Maoists triggered an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast, in which Konta Additional SP Akash Rao Giripunje was killed, where as couple of other jawans and officers sustained injuries, Bastar police sources said.
The incident took place when led by Giripunje forces were on an operation in the jungle, they said.
Giripunje was immediately rushed to the Konta Hospital. But despite all attempts he could not be saved, the sources said.
