Raipur, April 30, 2012: After intense discussions among the Chhattisgarh Government and the Maoists sides, the interlocutors of the rebels have indicated a positive result saying the talk was progressing in a right direction.

“The talk is progressing in the right direction,” Maoists interlocutors told reporters here.

When the Maoists had appointed Dr Brahma Dev Sharma and Prof G Haragopal as their interlocutors, the state government has taken help of two retired chief secretaries Nirmala Buch and Suyogya Kumar Misra to secure the safe release of the Sukma District Collector Alex V F Paul Menon V, who was kidnapped by the Maoists on April 21 from Majhipara area of his district.

After spending a day and a night in the Maoists den, both Sharma and Haragopal returned to Raipur yesterday only to put forth before the government interlocutors Buch and Misra the version of the Maoists.

Sources claimed that Sharma and Haragopal wanted to talk to the Maoists on couple of issues and to take their consent before reaching any agreement with the state government on the demands forwarded by the Maoists as a pre-condition to release Collector Menon.

Yesterday and today both the Maoists and the government sides had discussions and Buch and Misra had also discussed the matter with the Chief Minister and others.

One can expect an early solution to the crisis, sources claimed.
