Raipur, June 21, 2009: Ignoring government guidelines, crore rupees worth of works had been sanctioned and executed by the Tribal Welfare Department in Chhattisgarh.
The State Government had laid down guidelines for sanctioning of works under various Departments and its execution, but that was grossly ignored by the SC, ST Welfare Department, official sources said today.
Spending about RS 50 crore 19 Integrated Tribal Development Projects are being operated in the state for providing infrastructure in the tribal areas and also to increase sources of income for them.
However, in many cases the government guidelines had allegedly been violated and crore of worth of works had been carried out in the state, they said.
Taking the matter seriously Tribal Welfare Minister Kedar Kashyap has directed the Departmental Secretary Rajendra Prasad Mandal to take action against the officials involved in those matters.
Kashyap has also asked to ensure proper implementation of the government projects in the Department and draft schemes looking into the needs of the tribals.
