Raipur, December 25, 2024: Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai and Chhattisgarh joined the nation in paying tributes to former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee on his birth centenary today.

“Vajpayee is the creator of Chhattisgarh and the state is paying tribute today for giving us the opportunity to write Chhattisgarh as our address,” Chief Minister Sai said.
Looking into the demand of the people, Vajpayee as the Prime Minister, formed the Chhattisgarh state in the year 2000 for over all development of the people of this region, he said.
Vajpayee has been the guiding force of the state, the Chief Minister said and paid floral tributes to the former Prime Minister.
The state government is working towards fulfilling the dreams of Vajpayee. “We have decided to celebrate this silver jubilee year of Chhattisgarh as ‘Atal Nirman Varsh’ in the memory of Atal ji, under which priority will be given to the works of infrastructure development in the state,” Sai said.
Meanwhile, President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other dignitaries joined a prayer ceremony at the memorial of Vajpayee to pay tributes to him on his birth centenary at New Delhi.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Health Minister J P Nadda, along with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and NDA partner N Chandrababu Naidu also paid homage to Vajpayee.
Modi said in a post on X that the impact of how Vajpayee preserved constitutional values and gave new direction and momentum to the country will remain forever.
