Korba, January 9, 2010: Prominent tribal leader of BJP Nanki Ram Kanwar might be a powerful Minister for Home in Chhattisgarh, but at his home district Korba he was apparently ignored by the administration during a government function.
When contacted by the ChhattisgarhTopNews.Com, the Home Minister refused to comment on his experience had yesterday during the oath taking ceremony of the Korba Mayor and other elected people’s representatives, but his face failed to conceal his mind.
Kanwar was early to arrive for the oath ceremony only to find that he had to wait for Health Minister Amar Agrawal and Urban Development Minister Rajesh Munat for the function and that too without a chair outside the stage, when he is senior most among the three ministers, BJP sources said.
After the function, the District Administration invited Agrawal and Munat for a lunch at the CSEB Guest House and ignored the Home Minister and when it was pointed out to the officials during eating about the whereabouts of Kanwar by some party workers hurriedly some officials went up to Panchwati Guest House, where Kanwar was accommodated, to invite him.
By the time the Home Minister reached the spot, people said, the food was near completion, which made Kanwar angry.
However, when contacted, Kanwar refused to comment on that and the District officials were not available for comment.
