Jagdalpur, May 25, 2014: Even after one year of massacre of top leadership of Chhattisgarh Congress party, important investigating agencies have failed to reach a conclusion, who was behind the massacre.

On May 25, 2013 top Congress leaders, including PCC Chief Nand Kumar Patel, his son, Dinesh, former Leader of Opposition Mahendra Karma, eminent politician Vidya Charan Shukla, former MLA Uday Mudliyar, who unsuccessfully contested against the Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh from Rajnandgaon, many others were brutally massacred at Jhiram Ghati in Darbha of Bastar district in Chhattisgarh.

More than 30 Congress leaders, security forces and other people were killed in that incident, creating an upheaval in the country.

Initially the investigation was carried out by the State Police and subsequently was handed over to the elite NIA.

But even after one year of the incident, investigators have failed to reach any conclusion, who were behind this incident and what was their motive in this killing of politicians.

Was it a contract killing like in Lakshmananand Saraswati of Orissa or just another Maoist violence, both the political workers and family members of the victims wanted to know.

Despite Congress party was in power in the Centre, the pace of NIA investigation was very slow and the state party leadership was reduced to a mute spectator to the entire development.
