Raipur, March 12, 2016: A wild bear today violently attacked and killed a forest official and two villagers in Mahasamund district of Chhattisgarh, officials said.
An Assistant Forest officer K D Sahil, aged about 50 years, was on an official tour of Arang forest area, near Kodar dam of Mahasamund district with two villagers a wild bear came out from the woods and attacked the three.
In that incident the forest official Sahil and two villagers Dansingh Diwan and Satrughna Diwan were killed, the officials said.
Forest Minister Mahesh Gagda has expressed his deepest condolences to the bereaved families.
The family members of the deceased would also be provided compensation since there is a provision in forest act to provide financial aid to the families who would be killed by wild animals, they said.
