31 thousand sugarcane farmers of Chhattisgarh to get bonus of Rs 51.09 crore

     Raipur, October 11, 2026: Chhattisgarh government led by Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai has given a Navratri gift to the sugarcane farmers of the state by increasing the basis of calculation of sugarcane bonus from Rs 355 to Rs 425 per quintal.

     With this decision, 31,022 farmers supplying sugarcane to the four cooperative sugar factories of the state in the crushing season 2025-26 will receive a bonus amount of about Rs 51.09 crore.

     Chief Minister Sai and Cooperative Minister Kedar Kashyap have congratulated the sugarcane farmers of the state on this occasion.

     Cooperative Minister Kashyap said that by increasing the sugarcane bonus, farmers will get better rewards for their hard work and their economic condition will be strengthened.

      While giving top priority to the interests of the farmers, the state government is continuously working towards increasing their income and making farming more profitable, he said.

     Kashyap said that the increased amount of bonus will help farmers bear the cost of farming and prepare better for the upcoming crop. This decision will encourage sugarcane production in the state and will provide financial support to the farmers associated with cooperative sugar factories.

     The basis of FRP Rs 329.05 per quintal has been taken in bonus calculation for the crushing season 2025-26. According to the new system, after reducing the FRP from Rs 425, farmers will get a bonus at the rate of Rs 95.95 per quintal.

      Under this decision, 14,961 farmers of Bhoramdev Cooperative Sugar Factory Kawardha will get a bonus amount of approximately Rs 24.55 crore and 8,049 farmers of Sardar Patel Cooperative Sugar Factory Pandariya will get a bonus amount of approximately Rs 11.68 crore.

     Similarly, 7,250 farmers of Mahamaya Cooperative Sugar Factory Kerta will receive a bonus of approximately Rs 11.35 crore and 762 farmers of Danteshwari Maiya Cooperative Sugar Factory Balod will receive a bonus of approximately Rs 3.52 crore.
